Customisable purchase and delivery options
Customisable purchase and delivery options
Delivery to an address other than the payment address
If required, customers are allowed to specify a different delivery address for their orders (i.e. an address different to the card address).
For some businesses, this is essential as too much trade would be lost if this wan't allowed (e.g. delivering flowers).
For other businesses, the increased risk of fraud may not be worth it, so this option can be turned off.
Allow purchase without logging on and registering
Sales are often lost to websites that force customers to register an account before making a purchase, as some customers view it as too much hassle or simply don't like giving their details to websites.
However, for some businesses the data capture or the nature of the product makes forcing the customer to register worthwhile or essential.
Shop Banana allows this option to be turned on or off depending on your requirements.
Length of time products remain in the basket
If your website is using automatic stock-control, when a customer adds a product to the basket the item is removed from inventory (i.e. it is reserved for that customer). If the user removes the item from the basket it is added back to the inventory (i.e. un-reserved). Abandoned baskets can cause issues, as stock will remain reserved even though the customer has changed their mind about the purchase.
To cater for this there is a facility to automatically remove items from customers baskets after a set period. This period can be set to a few minutes, hours, days or even years.
